As the leading expert in the Departments of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in the UTCM Acupuncture Research and Education College and the UTCM Holistic Medicine Centre, Prof. Huang Li-Juan focuses on using a combination of Acupuncture and Chinese medicine in her practice. A graduate of the Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Pharmacology, she has a PhD in Clinical Studies of Internal Medicine, specializing in cardiovascular disease. PhD studies usually emphasize research, while clinical studies focus on how to treat illness; so her clinical skills are far above average. After graduation, she became an expert in her field. Later, she apprenticed with a famous acupuncture master, enhancing her needle techniques, advancing her skills in using a combination of needles and herbs. Through twenty-four years of clinic practice, she has become one of the top experts in internal medicine and gynecology. Therefore, she was invited by the Centre to participate in the creation of the “UTCM Chinese Medicine Treatment System.”
Prof. Huang also studied education in China. And after coming to Canada, she obtained her instructor credentials that from the Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA) of B.C. In addition to her teaching experience at a university in China, she has taught in several colleges in B.C. and become a popular teacher of TCM. Now she is the primary instructor at the College.
When needles and herbs are properly combined, the effects can be magnified significantly. She has used such methods to heal many patients.
